Songfacts:
The Argentine tango pianist and composer Angel Domingo Emilio D'Agostino (1900 - 1991) played in several tango dance ensembles and accompanied some silent films in the twenties. After 1940 he composed, together with the singer D'Agostino y Vargas, a lot of tunes that were very successful both in radio and on records. Today some of them are played on milongas because of their peppy character. Although D'Agostino composed later on some tunes with other singers, those with Vargas have remained the most successfuls.
The jazzinotes version is an arrangement for quintet (bandoneon, violin 1 and 2, violoncello and piano), but on the original recording you will find some more strings in the background, too. Thus the score might be rearranged for more instruments - or for less (quartet or trio). Please ask us for this here.
