CD Facts:
In »Sublimit« Paul Riggenbach plays with musical reflections: top becomes bottom, front back, mountain valley. What seems beyond the border suddenly becomes this side - or vice versa.
Forms of reflections are not new and have been known since twelve-tone music at the latest. But with Paul Riggenbach twelve-tone music doesn't sound like twelve-tone music at all (listen to No. 12, for example, "Naseweis"). And even if he uses composition techniques from Bach, Beethoven, Milhaud, Mozart, Rimsky-Korsakoff or Shostakovich, the result sounds like Paul Riggenbach and 2000+.
Paul Riggenbach's nimble fingers have been noticed for a long time: "... pianist Paul Riggenbach sweeps the keys virtuously, not only with his fingers, but sometimes with his clenched fist" (Weser Kurier, March 28, 2001).
